Boom Supersonic’s XB-1 demonstrator aircraft successfully carried out Flight Seven on November 5, 2024, focusing on expanding the flutter envelope and cockpit pressure testing to ensure safe performance and handling qualities as XB-1 nears supersonic speeds and higher altitudes. With Chief Test Pilot Tristan “Geppetto” Brandenburg again at the controls, XB-1 reached a higher altitude of 23, 015 feet, 3,015 higher than the last flight. About 3,000 Ft Above Ground Level, Flames Appeared From The Right Side Of The Engine Cowling

On October 27, 2024, about 0915 Pacific daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Badlands Vaquero airplane, N510DH, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near West Wendover, Nevada. The pilot sustained minor injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that during cruise flight, about 3,000 ft above ground level, flames appeared from the right side of the engine cowling.
