First Full Day Of Jury Deliberations In Moussaoui Case Ends Without Verdict

TSA Lawyer Martin May Face Criminal Charges

Can you define the term "weapons of mass destruction"? That's what the jury in the Zacarious Moussaoui death penalty trial wants to know.

In its first full day of deliberations Thursday, jurors asked the court for a definition. So Alexandria, VA federal judge Leonie Brinkema told them that it can include the use of commercial aircraft as guided missiles.

One of the six conspiracy charges to which Moussaoui pleaded guilty last year involves using weapons of mass destruction. Three of those charges, including the WMD charge, carries the death penalty.

Moussaoui, of course, is the only man tried in the US on charges relating to the September 11, 2001 attacks. This trial is to determine whether he's eligible for the death penalty and, if so, whether he should get it.

In the meantime, federal prosecutors in Philadelphia are now investigating TSA lawyer Carla Martin -- the woman accused of almost derailing the Moussaoui death penalty trial by coaching seven FAA witnesses. That word comes after Judge Brinkema revealed Martin could well be the target of a criminal investigation.
