Light Sport American Purchases Assets Of Italian ATR Storm Aircraft, Will Build Them In Bartow, FL

J. Phil McCoy, president and CEO of Light Sport America, announced Thursday at the Light Sport Expo at Sebring that his firm has purchased the assets of Italian aircraft manufacturer ATR Storm Aircraft, and he expects complete relocation of the factory and to begin U.S. production of Storm’s complete line of light sport aircraft at the Bartow, Florida, Municipal Airport in March.

Bristell USA LP appointed US Aviation of Denton, Texas to provide Factory Authorized Service for the top-of-the-line Bristell Light Sport aircraft. US Aviation have been a Rotax Service Center for many years with 6 Rotax trained, full time A&P’s on staff. “Bristell audited the US Aviation facility and found the capability requirements and the proper tools and equipment necessary to perform authorized service including insurance and warranty service, along with avionics and BRS service.

Swithblade Receives Full Funding For Production Launch

Conforming Prototype To Be Built

Samson Motors has received full funding for the launch of the Switchblade Multi-Mode Vehicle, the company announced Friday in conjunction with the Sebring LSA Expo in Florida. With testing milestones accomplished in both ground and air modes, the Switchblade now moves into construction and testing of the conforming, full-scale prototype.
