Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show Location Changed

The Event Will Now Take Place At Pensacola Beach

Due to COVID safety precautions, the 2021 Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show will now take place on Pensacola Beach instead of the NAS Pensacola base. The dates remain unchanged and will be taking place from November 5-6, 2021. “This is a huge disappointment to us. Holding the Blue Angels Homecoming Air Show at NAS Pensacola is a long, proud, Pensacola tradition that is especially meaningful in this 75th anniversary year,” said Capt. Pararescuemen Standby For SpaceX, Boeing Launches

Teams Are Trained To Rescue Astronauts That Detach From Rocket In Emergency

The 38th Rescue Squadron, located in Moody Air Force Base, Georgia, conducted rescue training of their pararescuemen in the Banana River and Atlantic Ocean near Patrick Space Force Base in the last week of August. The 38th RQS Blue Team trains to assist in the SpaceX human spaceflight program and Boeing’s spaceflight program, covering the ocean below them in the event of an emergency. If there is an issue during launch, that capsule will detach from the spacecraft with the ultimate goal being to land in the ocean where the pararescuemen can go rescue those who have been separated from the rocket.

Kabul Airport Reopens

Domestic Flights Taking Place, No Radar or Navigation 

Domestic flights have begun taking place from the Kabul airport, though more work is required before international flights resume. “Officially the airport is open. Over the past two days, we’ve repaired more than we expected,”  Muhammad Salim Saad, the Taliban commander in charge of airport security, said September 5th. “I want to assure all people that the airport is safe and secure,” Saad continued. He said the remaining technical problems should be fixed this week.
