Updated from Original 09.02.20 Report: The rumors have been ghosting around for a few weeks, but the airplane that would not die appears to have resurrected itself again... for the umpteenth time. For Mooney owners and fans, this is good news, but the details of this new development promises some interesting Mooney Watching for the next few years. Piper Sues... Archer?

Piper Aircraft has started a legal action against eVTOL developer Archer Aviation (Archer Aviation Inc. D/B/A Archer Aviation AND Archer)... over the tradename 'Archer' -- which, of course, has been part of the Piper tribe for many a year. The 24 page complaint, filed In the United States District Court For The District Of Delaware, sets out with a good deal of Piper history to set the pace as they explain that the tradename 'Archer' has been a part of the Piper brand for nearly fifty years. NTSB Prelim: Piper PA32

The Pilot Noticed That The Engine Did Not Indicate Full RPM

On August 19, 2020, about 1215 eastern daylight time, a Piper PA-32-300, N4089R, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident at Tallahassee International Airport (TLH), Tallahassee, Florida. The private pilot incurred minor injuries and the two passengers were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, he performed a preflight inspection of the airplane with no anomalies noted and loaded the airplane for the flight. He knew that the airplane had about 60 gallons of fuel on board, since he flew a trip the previous week and used the fuel out of the left main tank, he performed the engine
