Cicaré Helicopter Models to Appear in Popular Flight-Sim Software

Microsoft and X-Plane Facsimiles Planned

Cicaré USA—the U.S. subsidiary of the Argentine helicopter manufacturer founded by Augusto Cicaré—has entered into cooperative agreements to develop 3D models and facsimile flight controls specific to the company’s Cicaré-8 and SVH-4  helicopters. Subject agreements have been struck with Fast Cow Productions and Pro Flight Trainer LLC for purpose of seeing the aforementioned Cicaré helicopter models represented in the Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 and X-Plane flight simulation platforms.

Pre-Registration Stressed for Parking, Air Show Participation

The EAA has reminded would-be attendees of AirVenture 2023 to double check their paperwork before the fly-out now that the show is more or less a month away. In order to bring a warbird to Oshkosh for the big shindig, pilots must have a current EAA Warbirds of America membership, valid through at least 07/31/2023. Lilium, the Munich-based, German aerospace concern announced that it had entered into an agreement with Heli-Eastern (formally, Shenzhen Eastern General Aviation Co., Ltd), a major low-altitude general-aviation carrier and helicopter service provider operating in China’s Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay region.

Upgrade Announced for Honeywell 131-9B APUs

Love for the Little Engines that Can

Honeywell Aerospace, the storied North Carolina-headquartered aero-engine and avionics marque, unveiled a new High-Efficiency Mode (HEM) upgrade for its 131-9B Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) for Boeing 737 aircraft. The high efficiency connoted by the APU upgrade’s appellation derives in part of an innovative and efficient software-controlled diffuser that autonomously regulates airflow to the APU compressor section. The HEM upgrade is expected to provide fuel savings, increased efficiency, and diminished APU CO2 emissions on the order of one-to-two-percent.
