The term secondary barriers pertains to redundant means by which to block entrance to aircraft flight-decks, thereby diminishing the likelihood of unauthorized persons—primarily, hijackers—gaining access thereto.

Bell's Canadian sister inked a deal for half a dozen Bell 407GXi helicopters to the Argentine Ministry of Defense, done through a government-to-government contract. The Deal will equip the Argentinean Air Force and Army with the 407GXis for use as a modern, capable Search & Rescue aircraft. The 407s will be equipped with all the necessary kit needed to operate in the treacherous terrain of Argentina's mountainous regions.

James Shimer from Chesapeake Sport Pilot spends some time to show us the new Calidus Autogyro brought to us by Autogyro USA. Built in Germany, it’s constructed of composite and steel. It’s a sleek little autogyro that can cruise at about 90 knots on a Rotax 912 engine. It has a cruise range of about 400 nautical miles, so it’s a good cross-country machine, and it has very good short field takeoff and landing characteristics. The avionics are high tech and it even has an autopilot which is unusual for an autogyro.

CAE-Bell Collaboration to Bolster Military Helicopter Operations

On 13 June 2023, CAE announced its CAE Defense & Security division has been awarded the U.S. Air Force (USAF) Rotary-Wing, Introductory Flight Training (IFT-R) contract to support the service’s Air Education and Training Command (AETC). The contract tasks CAE with providing flight training to USAF student pilots as part of the branch’s Helicopter Training Next program.
