Airborne 11.08.21: HI 737 Recovered, Tamarack v NTSB, Astro-Delays

The NTSB has successfully completed the recovery of TransAir flight 810 this past week… They retrieved  the remains of the Boeing 737-200 that ditched after the flight crew reported anomalies in both engines shortly after takeoff from Honolulu on July 2, 2021. The only occupants of the aircraft, the two pilots, survived. After the ditching, the majority of the plane’s wreckage came to rest about 400 feet deep. Tamarack has disputed the findings of probable cause in the NTSB’s final report of a 2018 crash of Cessna Citation N525EG

Source: Nancy Gruttman-Tyler, a retired skydiver present when, ten years ago, Skydiver Pat Moore completed an accomplishment for his 80th birthday, raising $20,000 for the Skydiving museum with Team80. For that 2011 attempt, Team80 supported Moore with 50 riggers, cameramen, a pilot, and medical personnel on standby. A constant stream of parachute packing and aircraft prep took place over the course of 6 ½ hours, until he made his 81st jump with a celebratory American flag. Pat will attempt 9 more jumps on his 90th birthday celebration, on November 20th.
