FAA Proposes $382K Civil Penalty Against Universal Flight Training

Sarasota, FL, Operation Had Previously Been Subject Of Revocation Action

The FAA has proposed a $382,000 civil penalty against Universal Flight Training of Sarasota, FL, for allegedly conducting illegal passenger-carrying flights. The FAA alleges that between October 2015 and February 2019, Universal Flight Training and its affiliate, Universal Flight Services, conducted at least 26 paid passenger-carrying flights in multiple airplanes. The agency alleges the companies did not have the required FAA operating or air carrier certificate to conduct those flights. The FAA further alleges the companies used unqualified pilots who did not complete FAA-required training, testing, and competency checks.

Shell Informs Community Of New Ambitions For SAF

Company Goal To Produce Around 2 Million Tons Of SAF By 2025

Shell informs the community of its ambition to produce around 2 million tons of sustainable aviation fuel a year by 2025. By 2030, the company also plans to have at least 10% of its total, global fuel sales as SAF. “Currently, sustainable aviation fuel accounts for less than 0.1% of the world’s use of aviation fuel. We want to help our customers use more SAF,” said Anna Mascolo, President of Shell Aviation. “With the right policies, investments and collaboration across the sector we can accelerate aviation’s progress towards net zero by 2050.”
