Airlander 10 Will Take Three To Four Months To Repair

Aircraft Damaged During Second Test Flight Last Month

It certainly didn't LOOK like much of an accident when the Airlander 10 nosedived into the ground on its second test flight last month, but the damage caused by bumping the ground will take three to four months to repair, according to Hybrid Air Vehicles.

Hybrid Air Vehicles said that the cockpit and hull were damaged when the aircraft impacted the ground in what was described as a "heavy landing", according to a report from ITV. Fortunately, no one was injured in the accident.

The company said that a mooring line from the aircraft did contact a power line prior to the accident, but "no damage was caused to the aircraft and this did not contribute to the heavy landing," the company said in a statement released a few days after the incident.

The U.K. Air Accidents Investigation Branch will conduct an investigation into the incident.
