Bell Delivers Subaru Huey to Guatemalan Air Force

Firm Notes Purchase to Delivery Occurred in Less than a Year

Bell Textron tendered a pair of brand new Subaru 412EPX helicopters to the Guatemalan Air Force at a ceremony at the La Aurora International Airport.

The aircraft fall under an Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity contract signed between Bell and the U.S. Army Multinational Aviation Special Programs Office earlier this year. The joint Subaru/Bell aircraft sports all the most modern improvements to the basic UH-1 Design, slotting in neatly to a long time operator of Bell aircraft. The GAF's experience in operating their previous UH-1s, 212s, and 206s should come in useful to maintain their fancy new 412EPXs.

“We are honored to bring the most modern version of the Bell 412 to Guatemala,” said Carl Coffman, Bell vice president of Advanced Vertical Lift Systems sales and strategy. “Turnaround from signature to delivery is a statement to the men and women supporting this aircraft at every level of the business, and a testament to the efficiency of the IDIQ contract between Bell and MASPO.”

“We are excited to introduce the SUBARU BELL 412EPX into the Guatemalan Air Force,” said Major General Henry Yovani Reyes, Minister of National Defense. “The aircraft will support missions including disaster response, humanitarian relief, and other utility needs.”
