Class 3 EFB Services Included In A New Three-Year Deal
Jeppesen has signed a three-year
electronic flight bag (EFB) agreement with Turkish Airlines to
provide electronic charts and data, plus distribution and
management services for the airline’s fleet of Boeing 777
aircraft.
The agreement implements Jeppesen class 3 EFB services that
include airport moving map and charting data. The new digital
information service package further enhances Jeppesen’s
established level of data service with the airline. “Turkish
Airlines is a leading airline and an innovative business partner of
Jeppesen. We appreciate the opportunity to provide the most
advanced electronic flight bag solution on the market to Turkish
Airlines, enabling bottom-line operational improvements,”
said Thomas Wede, Jeppesen senior vice president and general
manager, Aviation. “This agreement continues Jeppesen’s
established partnership with Turkish Airlines, and we are excited
to help the industry continue to move away from paper charts by
providing digital EFB data directly to the flight deck.”
Prior to the new service agreement,
Jeppesen previously partnered with Turkish Airlines to provide
charting services, including e-Link, flight planning and NavData
products. Turkish Airlines also is using the Jeppesen products
Carmen Crew Rostering and Carmen Crew Pairing. “The
implementation of the class 3 EFB services is an exciting and
important step for our airline,” said Atilla Turker, senior
vice president of operational coordination, Turkish Airlines.
“With Jeppesen’s EFB solution, we have established an
optimized and certified system to deliver and manage electronic
charting and airport moving map data to the cockpit, and our pilots
continue to access the high quality charting information they
already use in paper format.”
Turkish Airlines is based in Istanbul and operates in more than
120 international destinations in Europe, Asia and Africa,
including more than 30 locations in Turkey.
