Northern Jet Gains Part 145 Repair Station Certification

Enables In-House Maintenance, Inspections, Mods For Rapid Turnarounds

Northern Jet of Grand Rapids, Michigan, announced it has acquired an FAA Part 145 Repair Station certification, allowing it to perform in-house maintenance, repairs, inspections, and modifications of its fleet of twenty aircraft ranging from light to heavy jets. Bringing these services internally will lead to streamlining operations, faster turnaround times and reduces its reliance on third-party providers.

The acquisition reinforces Northern Jet’s commitment to safety, efficiency, and excellent service for its aircraft owners and clients. The certificate ensures that Northern’s maintenance, repairs, and modification operations meet the stringent standards specified by the FAA for personnel qualifications and facility requirements.

In addition to enhancing its internal maintenance operations, the capability brings a more transparent and open relationship with the FAA and underscores its commitment to the highest standards in private aviation.

Chris Bull, CEO of Northern Jet said, "Safety has always been Northern Jet's highest priority. The acquisition of this Part 145 Repair Station allows us to expand our in-house maintenance capabilities, reduce aircraft downtime, and eliminate the need to rely on third-party vendors for certain repair work. This means faster turnaround times and increased convenience for our aircraft owners and NJ clients."

Northern Jet’s Part 145 standing enables it to build out a more capable maintenance department that will relieve the company’s dependence on external MRO facilities. This will lead to faster response times, better efficiency of operations, and greater oversight of maintenance quality.
