Authorizes Activation Of The In-Flight Data Transmission System
The FAA has granted an activation Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) to FLYHT Aerospace Solutions for its Automated Flight Information Reporting System (AFIRS) 228 on the Boeing 777 model aircraft.
On December 12, 2012, FLYHT received an Activation STC for the Boeing 777 series aircraft from Transport Canada which was the first step in enabling an existing customer, a US specialty carrier, to install AFIRS on a Boeing 777. This activation STC from the FAA will allow the customer to activate the AFIRS technology on two Boeing 777's in their fleet of nine aircraft.
"FLYHT has been diligently working towards securing the Boeing 777 STC from the FAA," said Bill Tempany, CEO and President of FLHYT. "This popular aircraft is flown around the world by several of our existing customers as well as several prospects we are pursuing. The receipt of this activation STC is the first from the FAA for the AFIRS 228. Details are available on our website for products and countries in which we have STCs for Boeing's products.
AFIRS 228 is FLYHT's next-generation flagship product. It will provide a fully certified avionics platform capable of meeting all air navigation communications requirements in Europe, the United States and other jurisdictions around the world. It will also provide the input and outputs necessary to enhance the value of real-time data for FLYHT's customers globally. The AFIRS 228 will be the first safety services certified platform on the planet to provide black box data streaming via FLYHTStream, FLYHT's patent pending solution.
