First North American STC For Galileo HDX On G200

Trimec Aviation Worked With Gogo On Approval For Fuselage Installation

Gogo announced that its Galileo HDX electronically steered antenna (ESA) system has received FAA Supplemental Type Certification approval for fuselage mounting on the Gulfstream G200 aircraft, with the STC being awarded to Trimec Aviation of Fort Worth, Texas.

Gogo and Trimec, an FAA-certified avionics provider and MRO, worked together to obtain the STC approval, which is the first for the fuselage-mounted HDX in North America for the G200 type.

The approval gives owners and operators of the G200 access to the Eutelsat OneWeb constellation of low-Earth-orbit satellites for global high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity coverage. This enables productivity, entertainment, and gaming at the highest levels for passengers on any route flown.

The flat panel antenna adds redundancy to existing networks, strengthening reliability and ensuring consistent, uninterrupted LEO coverage around the globe.

Peter Rabadi, Vice President of Development at Trimec Aviation said, “We’re incredibly excited to receive the STC for installing the Gogo Galileo HDX system on the Gulfstream G200 platform. This achievement reflects the dedication of John Holland, general manager, and our highly skilled avionics team in delivering innovative, performance-driven aircraft upgrades.

“The HDX terminal opens new possibilities for G200 operators, offering enhanced situational awareness, improved reliability, and next-generation connectivity for both the flight deck and cabin.”

Chris Moore, Chief Executive Officer of Gogo said, “Owners of the super-mid-size jet can now optimize our advanced technology solution for best-in-class connectivity through this latest STC. In addition to future-proofed connectivity, operators equipping their aircraft with the LEO solution will benefit from added value services including live round-the-clock technical support, customized training, cybersecurity products, and the ability to maintain pace with future connectivity developments. We’re very pleased to have our first FAA-approved STC and expect to have several more confirmed before the end of the year, covering a wide variety of aircraft.”
