UAV Shooter Pleads Guilty To Criminal Mischief

Will Be Sentenced To Probation In April

A New Jersey man has pleaded guilty to Criminal Mischief in a case involving shots fired at a UAV in September.

On Friday, Cape May County Prosecutor Robert L. Taylor announced the guilty plea of Russell Percenti, 34 years old of Lower Township, for one count of Criminal Mischief, a crime of the fourth degree.

Mr. Percenti acknowledged that on September 26, 2014, in Lower Township, New Jersey he used a shotgun in a residential neighborhood to shoot at a remotely controlled drone. He also acknowledged that he caused a monetary loss of over $500.00 to the owner of that property.

Prosecutor Taylor advises that Fourth degree crimes can carry a penalty of up to 18 months New Jersey State Prison.

Mr. Percenti is to be sentenced to probation on April 29, 2016.
