Hopes To Attract Young People To Industry
Helicopter Association International (HAI) told ANN Tuesday any
aviation student wishing to join HAI -- who is currently taking
helicopter flight lessons, or is enrolled, or has been enrolled
within the past 12 months from date of application, in a helicopter
pilot flight training, maintenance technician, or aviation
dispatcher course -- can apply for a complimentary one-year
membership in HAI.
The free one-year membership offer also applies to all current
HAI aviation Student members who meet these criteria. Their next
membership renewal for one year will automatically be free.
HAI believes this offer directly compliments its efforts to
attract young people to the rotorcraft industry, at a time when
members are finding it difficult to recruit pilots, maintenance
technicians, and other aviation specialists. The rotorcraft
association says the free memberships will provide students the
access and support they need as they consider their career
options.
Qualifying students will also receive drastically discounted
admission to Heli-Expo, the largest helicopter trade show in the
world, which features an annual Job Fair, mentoring programs, and
networking opportunities. They may also attend HAI Committee
meetings and the various forums, as well as explore the show floor.
In addition, they are eligible for discounts to HAI Education
Courses. The students may also apply for HAI scholarships provided
they meet the qualification criteria.
HAI encourages students enrolled in the training courses
mentioned to look at what the industry has to offer and the many
ways we can help advance their careers.
