The Aerospace Center for Excellence to Hold Fundraiser

'The Bash' Funds STEM Education for Future Aviators

The Aerospace Center for Excellence (ACE) is organizing a fundraising event called 'The Bash' on April 11, 2024, running from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Florida Air Museum.

The event aims to support the ACE’s STEM education programs, including several scholarships for students pursuing aerospace and aviation careers. The event will feature a cocktail reception, delectable cuisine, silent auction, live auction, and a fund-a-need auction. The Aerospace Center for Excellence is a non-profit organization that provides educational support to the aerospace industry, including pilot, maintenance technician, and college scholarships.

The Florida Air Museum, formerly known as the International Sport Aviation Museum and the SUN 'n FUN Air Museum, is designated as Florida’s “Official Aviation Museum and Education Center”. The museum features a dynamic display of unique designs, classics, ultra-lights, antiques, and warbirds. The museum is located on the SUN 'n FUN Expo Campus and boasts an impressive array of STEM learning environments. The Aerospace Center for Excellence is anchored by the Central Florida Aerospace Academy, a Polk County Public High School Career Academy, and Florida Air Museum.

The Aerospace Center for Excellence’s STEM education programs include aerospace-themed summer camps and student outreach programs presented by ACE staff to over 30,000 students annually. Educator assistance programs provide STEM-based curriculum and lesson plans for teachers at all grade levels. Hands-on learning activities are available for all ages, and include everything from stomp rockets and balsa gliders to real aircraft construction and maintenance programs. There is even a fully functioning Boeing 727 on the campus that serves as a unique learning laboratory.

ACE is partnering with Explorations V, soon to be renamed the Florida Children’s Museum, to provide more opportunities for students to learn about aviation and aerospace. The Florida Air Museum and Explorations V will work together to provide experiences and opportunities that will ignite students’ love of aviation and fuel their passion for pursuing a career in a STEM field.

The Aerospace Center for Excellence is committed to engaging, educating, and accelerating the next generation of aerospace professionals. The Bash is an excellent opportunity to support the ACE’s STEM education programs and help students pursue their dreams of a career in aviation and aerospace.
