Hawker Horizon Begins Making The Rounds In US

Fresh From Its European Tour...

Raytheon's Hawker Horizon will begin a summer tour of North America on July 11th. After its launch at this year's annual European Business Aviation Convention and Exhibition (EBACE) in Geneva, Switzerland, the Hawker Horizon visited France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Ireland (Eire), the United Kingdom, South Africa, Brazil, Panama, Costa Rica and Mexico to conduct customer briefings and demonstrations. The first production Hawker Horizon (RC-5) will travel throughout the United States and Canada, continuing to demonstrate its capabilities to order holders and prospective customers.

"The international tour has given our customers the opportunity to find out first-hand what the Hawker Horizon is capable of. We are extremely excited about demonstrating the aircraft domestically, and are sure that the Horizon will continue to exceed our customers' expectations," said Brad Hatt, president and general manager of Hawker Business at Raytheon Aircraft Company.

The Hawker Horizon continues in the Hawker tradition, combining quality, reliability, dependability, and affordability, with a roomy cabin and customized interior. The Hawker family of aircraft is known for their ease of maintenance, and worldwide service and support network, and this next-generation Hawker continues this proud legacy. The Hawker Horizon combines high speed, intercontinental range and significant payload with a large cabin and midsize business jet economy.

Hawker claims the Horizon is entering the marketplace with the best overall performance in its class –- performance that is even better than anticipated when it was initially unveiled. It has a take-off field length performance of 4,509 feet (gross weight, ISA/sea level conditions) and extraordinary climb performance, requiring only 13 minutes to climb from sea level to FL370 (37,000 ft). Powered by two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW308A turbofan engines, the Hawker Horizon can fly six passengers and two crew a distance of 3,100 nautical miles at high speed cruise (Mach .82), and has a long range capability of 3,400 nautical miles.

The Hawker Horizon fuselage is manufactured with advanced composite technology. Built in three sections, the fuselage features a 72-inch stand-up cabin and 77.5-inch width. A flat floor runs the entire length of the aircraft, leading to a large baggage area. The baggage compartment is accessible on the ground through an exterior door or during flight through the cabin.

The aircraft will be delivered with a comprehensive customer support package and will be serviced by Raytheon Aircraft Company's global network of company-owned and independent service centers.
