It was a matter of time... but the US Air Force Thunderbird airshow performance at the upcoming July 22 Wings Over Warren Airshow has been cancelled after a Thunderbird crewmember was found to have been exposed to COVID-19 and has tested positive.

As a result, the Thunderbirds have stood down for this event. Col. Brian L. Rico, commander of the 90th Maintenance Group at F.E. Warren Air Force Base, confirmed the news... The long awaited update to the nearly legendary Microsoft Flight Simulator launches on August 18. And it can't come too soon for the thousands who have been awaiting this version. MFS developers note that they, "...have been thrilled and humbled by the support and dedication that has fueled the Flight Sim community for the past 38 years. Since the launch of the very first Microsoft Flight Simulator in 1982, we knew it was finally the right time to develop the next-generation version of Microsoft Flight Simulator..." The NTSB has determined during a public board meeting held this week that Atlas Air flight 3591 crashed in Trinity Bay, Texas, because of the first officer’s inappropriate response to an inadvertent activation of the airplane’s go-around mode, resulting in his spatial disorientation that led him to
place the airplane in a steep descent from which the crew did not recover. The accident happened Feb. 23, 2019, when the Atlas Air Boeing 767 cargo jet entered a rapid descent from about 6,000 feet and impacted a marshy bay about 40 miles from Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport.
