Four Dead In Alaska Accident

Relative: "That Was My Whole Family"

It was Alaska's deadliest air accident of the year -- a Cessna 170 (file photo of type, below) carrying three family members and a friend went down north of Willow, killing all on board.

The Anchorage Daily News lists the dead as Curtiss and Sigrid Blake, both retired schoolteachers from Anchorage; their daughter, Christina Blake, 28, of Girdwood; and her boyfriend, Robert Toney, 36, of Anchorage, who was piloting the Cessna 170.

The accident left 27-year old Jennie Blake shocked. "That was my whole family," she told the Anchorage paper.

Officials told the Daily News Toney took off Friday from Merrill Field on a sightseeing trip. Toney and the Blakes were going to visit several galleries as well. Around 2145 local, the aircraft "went down hard," according to witnesses, on its way back to Merrill from Talkeetna.
