NBAA Gains Surprising New Sponsors

2024 NBAA-BACE Sponsored by DraftKings

Special 04.01.23 Parody Edition: The NBAA will sport some surprising branding on all company uniforms and insignia for the next year following an unfortunate SNAFU which confused the group for the National Basketball Association.

Through 2024, the National Business Aviation Association will sport branding from DraftKings, an online sports betting company, much as the company had hoped to achieve throughout the NBA.

"Well, to be honest, it was mutual confusion," said NBAA VP of Exhibitions Dina Carey. "Draft Kings sent us the agreement, and legal just kind of assumed they had a typo when referring to us as the "NBA", so we just signed on the dotted line. It wasn't until they started asking for the art department to design the jerseys that we realized what'd happened, and by then the check had already cleared."

Through next year's BACE, all NBAA personnel will be required to sport at least one piece of DraftKings-approved 'flair', with higher level execs sporting a minimum of 12x6-inch company branding across the back of their suit jacket, polo, or jerseys. Lower level employees may opt for a cheaper solution in the form of 6x3" DraftKings buttons, pins, or nametags to honor the sponsorship deal.

“The NBAA strives to be at the forefront of safe business aviation that creates excitement among pilots and passengers. We look forward to joining hands with NBAA staff as the newest partners of the DraftKings experience," said Sean Beiriger, General Counsel. "Despite the rocky start, we see a great future with the NBAA, and hope to embark on some exciting new intersections that bring the worlds of sports betting and aircraft operation together."
