H+S Aviation Authorized For Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T

Primary Engine For Bell and Agusta/Bell 212 and 412 Models

BBA Aviation's Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) company H+S Aviation has been awarded Distributor and Designated Overhaul Facility (DDOF) authorization for repair and overhaul of all models of the Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T TwinPac engine. This engine is used primarily on Bell and Agusta/Bell 212 and 412 helicopters.

H+S Aviation, located in Portsmouth, England, has extensive experience with rotorcraft engines through its OEM authorizations on Rolls-Royce Model 250/T63/T703 and General Electric T700 and CT-7 turboshaft engines. Combined with the PT6T, these authorizations represent nearly half of all rotorcraft engines in operation throughout the world.

"The addition of this authorization at H+S Aviation contributes greatly to our ongoing expansion of rotorcraft support," commented BBA Aviation ERO President, Hugh McElroy. "Coupled with our existing PT6T authorization at Dallas Airmotive in North America, we can offer more choice and broader expertise to the worldwide PT6T market. In addition, the DDOF designation enables H+S Aviation to sell OEM parts over the counter - an enhancement to the DOF-only authorization."

"Many helicopter operators in Europe and the Middle East are familiar with H+S Aviation through its extensive accessory repair and overhaul capabilities," continued McElroy. "H+S has been overhauling accessories for 30 years, including fuel pumps, torque limiters and controllers, fuel nozzles, bleed valves and much, much more."

"We are delighted to add the PT6T DDOF to our already extensive relationship with H+S Aviation and the BBA Aviation group," added Maria Della Posta, Vice President of Customer Service for Pratt & Whitney Canada. "We have full confidence in H+S Aviation to bring enhanced service and support to PT6T operators in the region."

H+S Aviation is acquiring additional engine rental assets, including the PT6T-3D Series, for installation during engine events and adding field service support. In the interim, service can be provided for H+S Aviation from U.S.-based Dallas Airmotive.
