Will Participate In AFA’s Air & Space Conference And Technology Exposition
Textron AirLand will bring its Scorpion ISR/Strike tactical jet to Washington, D.C. on September 15 and 16 at the Air Force Association’s Air & Space Conference. The aircraft will be displayed at Signature Flight Support Terminal, at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA), a short distance from the conference center.
This will be Scorpion’s second fly-in to the Nation’s Capital, and caps off a four-month, multi-national tour that included rigorous demonstrations for air forces in South America and Europe.
The interactive exhibit will highlight the multi-mission flexibility of the Scorpion and feature a variety of multi-spectral sensor and high-definition video camera packages engineered for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions. Several wing-mounted mock munitions will be shown, representing a typical array of air-to-surface and air-to-air weapons preferred by the US and partner nations. 16 companies are expected to participate, showcasing more than 35 products capable of supporting Scorpion’s diverse mission set.
“We’re excited to bring Scorpion back to DC, and especially pleased that so many of the leading weapons and ISR technology companies will be with us, highlighting the modular, multi-mission flexibility of our platform,” said Textron AirLand president Bill Anderson. “Open House hours and special events at the Signature Terminal give us a unique opportunity to converse with air forces from many nations—some seeing the aircraft for the first time and others who have been tracking our progress since first flight.”
Scorpion and the supplier exhibits are viewable by invitation only.
In addition to the aircraft exhibit, a Scorpion scale model will be displayed at the Textron AirLand booth during all hours of the Technology Exposition at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center on the Potomac, in National Harbor, MD.
