Cirrus CEO Alan Klapmeier Named Chairman Of GAMA For 2008

Two New Member Companies Also Added

The board of directors of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association (GAMA) has elected Alan Klapmeier, Chairman and CEO for Cirrus Design Corporation, as the group's chairman for 2008. Klapmeier previously served as GAMA's vice chairman and chairman of GAMA's security issues committee.

The board also elected Mark Van Tine as GAMA's vice chairman. Van Tine is President and CEO of Jeppesen. He has served as chairman of the international affairs committee and will continue this roll in the coming year.

GAMA's board of directors also approved two applications for membership.

Aero Mach Labs, based in Wichita, KS specializes in instrument development and support of field modifications from earliest design specifications through documentation for FAA approval. The company makes various instruments including power plant and electronic instrumentation, gyro-operated instruments, and fuel management systems.

Jet Aviation, headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland, performs completions and aircraft painting, refurbishments, and aircraft maintenance. The company also has an engineering division that develops FAA supplemental type certificates for modifications and alterations to aircraft. In addition, Jet Aviation operates a number of airport support facilities and manages a fleet of aircraft.

GAMA is an international trade association headquartered in Washington, DC representing 60 of the world's leading manufacturers of general aviation aircraft, engines, avionics and related equipment. GAMA's members also operate fleets of aircraft, fixed based operations, and pilot training and maintenance training facilities.
