WingX Pro Allows AirVenture NOTAM Display With Moving Map

Technique Applies To Any PDF File

For those pilots lucky enough to be flying in to AirVenture next week, it can get really busy, so WingX has tried to make it easier. WingX Pro7's documents feature enables you to easily import any number of documents, including the AirVenture NOTAM.

You can view the moving map and the Airventure NOTAM at the same time.
 
The technique applies to any PDF file you would like to view on WingX, but using the AirVenture NOTAM as an example, there are two methods you can use:

"Open In..."
View a PDF in Safari. For example, to view the Airventure NOTAM either browse to the EAA Airventure website or go here, then tap anywhere on the document and select "Open In..." in the top-right, then select WingX Pro7.

iTunes

  • Connect your iPad via the USB cable to your desktop.
  • Run iTunes.
  • You will see your iPad listed on the left under Devices, click on your iPad.
  • Click on Apps - next to Summary and Info near the top.
  • Under File Sharing on the main page, click on WingX Pro7
  • Drag and drop any PDFs such as checklists into the WingX Pro7 Documents window.

To view a PDF in WingX Pro7, tap on View 1 or View 2, select Documents, then select the PDF you wish to view. This works great with split screen to view checklists or the Airventure NOTAM.
