PowerUp S-1200 Series Approved, Available for 4- And 6-Cylinder Engines

Hartzell Engine Tech announced it received FAA Parts Manufacturer Approval for its PowerUp S-1200 Series aircraft magnetos, known for excellent performance and reliability in both 4- and 6-cylinder engines, and are available in impulse-coupled and “Shower of Sparks” configurations.

Hartzell Engine Tech has started taking orders from distributors and expects to have global stocking availability by spring 2026.

The PowerUp S-1200 is a direct replacement for general aviation aircraft and delivers superior high-altitude performance to above 30,000 feet without the need for pressurization. They are known for proven performance in high-power and racing applications, and are resistant to arcing at altitude.

The magnetos incorporate enhancements in components such as the flange, timing cam, fasteners, and access plugs. The products join Hartzell Engine Tech’s existing portfolio that includes exhaust, charging, starting, cabin heating, turbocharging, and fuel systems.

PowerUp Ignition Systems products are designed, built, and tested in-house to Hartzell’s high performance criteria. PowerUp is an OEM supplier for general aviation and military customers. The company offers FAA-PMA-approved magnetos, ignition leads, harnesses, and replacement parts, and it maintains a large replacement pool as well as OEM partnerships that ensure quick turnaround times.
