Piper M-Class Owners and Pilots Meet-Up

Nearly 300 M-Class Community Members Came Together at 2025 PMOPA Convention

More than 260 aviators recently traveled to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, for this year’s Piper M-Class Owners and Pilots Association (PMOPA) Convention, chiefly sponsored by Piper Aircraft itself. The event celebrates the manufacturer’s collection of single-engine turbo-props, offered as a step up from the popular PA-46 Malibu.

“This year’s PMOPA Convention demonstrated the Association’s ongoing commitment to excellence in education, safety and member engagement,” said PMOPA CEO Mike Nichols. “From robust, safety-focused programming and a dynamic exhibit hall to exceptional networking opportunities, the event reflected the strength of our community and the value PMOPA delivers to its members.”

This year’s convention was held September 11–14 in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin, drawing over 70 aircraft, 28 exhibitors, and 260 attendees. The convention featured a healthy mix of keynote talks, panel discussions, breakout sessions, and social events.

On the safety front, PMOPA’s Safety & Education Foundation Chair Manny Casiano presented a review of PA-46 accidents, followed by a panel digging into loss-of-control inflight scenarios. Dozens of technical sessions covered avionics, weather radar, risk management, maintenance, flight planning tools, and even tax considerations for owners.

Piper Aircraft was a highly present contributor. Ron Gunnarson, vice president of sales and marketing, sat down with PMOPA President John Walters for a discussion about the manufacturer’s ongoing support of the association and its owners. PMOPA also announced a new insurance partnership with 5X5 Aviation, offering members active in the Master Aviator Program up to 20 percent off premiums.

The convention also hit several milestones, with the final evening gala raising more than $190,000 for the PMOPA Safety & Education Foundation and introducing a new safety video series. The gala then recognized its largest Master Aviator Program class to date: 93 pilots across all levels.

PMOPA’s 2026 convention will move west to The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs.
