TCM Boss Lewis Retiring, Ross To Take Over As President

Lewis Closes Out Distinguished 27 Year career

Teledyne has confirmed rumors of the impending retirement of long-time Teledyne-Continental Motors  head, Bryan L. Lewis. In his stead, TCM will be guided by Rhett C. Ross as the new President of Teledyne Continental Motors, Inc., (Piston Engines), effective November 5, 2007. Ross, age 43, succeeds Lewis. Lewis will be retiring on February 1, 2008, after an extensive 27-year career with Teledyne that allowed him to oversee aggressive changes in the company and the product line.

"I am pleased to announce Rhett's promotion," said Robert Mehrabian, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Teledyne Technologies. "Rhett has demonstrated strong leadership at our Energy Systems segment, doubling this segment's revenue over his seven-year tenure."

"I want to thank Bryan for his leadership of Teledyne Continental Motors, Inc.", added Mehrabian.

"Bryan's innovative thinking and dedication have made Teledyne Continental Motors a premier provider of piston aircraft engines and control systems. I anticipate that Rhett will work closely with Bryan to assure a smooth leadership transition for our piston engine businesses."

Chris T. Kuehn, age 36, will replace Rhett Ross as President of Teledyne Energy Systems, Inc., effective November 5, 2007. Chris is currently the Vice President of Commercial Products, hydrogen generators, at Teledyne Energy Systems, having been with the company for seven years.

Mr. Lewis (right) began his industry career in 1972 at the Pratt & Whitney Aircraft Division of United Technologies in Hartford, Connecticut as an engineer in the Design Technology staff. While at Pratt & Whitney Mr. Lewis was involved in the design and analysis of advanced engine design concepts for both commercial and military aircraft. Mr. Lewis also participated in the development of early generation information systems support integrated product development.

Mr. Lewis joined Teledyne CAE in 1980. He was subsequently promoted to department head of Design Analysis, Manager of Mechanical Design, Director and Vice President of Engineering. In 1989 Mr. Lewis was promoted to Vice President and General Manager of Teledyne CAE and in 1990 assumed the position of president of the company. In 1992 Mr. Lewis was named president of Teledyne Continental Motors.

Mr. Lewis earned a bachelor's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Wichita State University, and a master's degree in Engineering Mechanics from the University of Texas at Austin, and attended courses in mechanical engineering at the University of Connecticut. He has also co-authored papers in the field of engineering analysis. Mr. Lewis has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New Piper Aircraft Company and Aerosance.

Mr. Lewis has served on the Alabama Governor's Commission on Aerospace Science and Industry, as a regional chairman for the United Way and serves as an advisor to the Mobile Chamber of Commerce.
