ASA Releases AIRCLASSICS Push-to-Talk Switch

Low Profile, Contoured, Yoke-Mounted Mic Button Offers Affordable Solution to Aging Red Buttons

ASA has released a small, unobtrusive, and durable push-to-talk switch for use with GA headsets, intercoms, and radios.

The switch replaces the oftentimes finicky and easily broken little red button frequently found throughout the GA fleet, providing owners with a contoured, low-profile switch for their radio needs. The button's lead flows into a coiled cable for use with any 2-plug comm device, allowing for easy, simple "installation" (i.e. plugging it in) with no fuss. The PTT switch allows for a snag-free position on the yoke with plenty of extra cable for freedom of movement. That portability could come in handy for those pilots looking to carry their ideal setup from one aircraft to another, too. A simple velcro (okay, technically “hook-and-loop”) closure allows for easy on/of in placing the switch wherever it needs to be.

The Korean-manufactured switch is built with a "superior contact switch for reliable communication", which should prevent any more patchy, inconsistent transmissions while approaching the pattern. With a fairly down-to-earth intro price of $64.95, the Airclassics switch could be just the ticket for owners tired of wiggling their picky old coil switch whenever it starts to work itself loose again.
