The aircraft feature the following tech:

  • Smith Myers ARTEMIS Mobile Phone Localization System: Enables precise location tracking of mobile devices to support rescue missions.
  • CarteNav AIMS-ISR Mission Management System: Streamlines mission planning, execution, and data integration.
  • Line of Sight & Beyond Line-of-Sight Datalink: Facilitates real-time transmission of intelligence data to ground stations.

  • Maritime VHF Radio: Enhances coordination during coastal and maritime operations.

Mario Spiegel, Head of Sales for Diamond Special Mission Aircraft said, “This delivery represents a major step forward in our commitment to supporting governments with advanced aerial solutions. The DA62 MPP is engineered for high performance and efficiency in demanding environments, and we are confident these aircraft will significantly enhance Greece’s ability to respond to climate-related emergencies and protect its citizens.”

The contract signed in Athens is comprehensive and in addition to the aircraft includes ground stations, training, spare parts, and long-term support. The prime contractor, ATESE S.A. collaborated with Diamond and local representative IHOR to bring the project to the finish line – from initial demo flights in November 2022 to these deliveries.
