TrueNorth Adds Chris de Hoog As Product Program Manager

Satcom Specialist To Assist In Product Support

TrueNorth Avionics, Inc. announced this week it has hired 11-year Satcom industry veteran Chris de Hoog as Avionics Product Program Manager to assist with customer and product sales support for its growing line of Simphone airborne telecommunications systems.

de Hoog brings experience in field support, integration and product verification management on satellite systems and high-speed data products, having worked previously with EMS Satcom and Mitel Corp.

"My goal is to ensure our customers and our sales team have direct input into the development of new features and functionality for all our products, including the growing Simphone product series and our other exciting airborne communications solutions," said Chris. In addition to letting corporate aircraft operators manage all their airborne communications - Satcom, fax, broadband data, cabin intercom -- through an ultra-quiet, easy-to-use menu-driven handset, the single-LRU Simphone system provides superior voice quality and a host of unique customization options. Other key features include its all-digital design, future-proof architecture and modular expandability.

"Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the TrueNorth team, and we're pleased that he will help us enhance the quality of support we offer our customers and dealers," said Mark van Berkel, TrueNorth's CEO.

Based in Ottawa, Canada, TrueNorth Avionics, Inc. develops integrated communications solutions for business aviation. Its premier product, the Simphone (pronounced 'Symphony') airborne telephone, is an executive-class airborne telecommunications system that combines superior voice quality, unmatched ease of use, advanced functionality and an impressive array of personalization features.

Options include a self-contained ACARS/AFIS datalink module, Iridium fax, legacy Satcom interface and embedded Wi-Fi.
