Linear Air Expands Air Taxi Service Along East Coast

New Partners FlyADVANCED, OpenAir Join Linear Air’s Online Air-Taxi Marketplace

Linear Air has announced two new partners that are joining its growing Air Taxi marketplace, resulting in an expanded national service area. As FlyADVANCED, with its base of operations in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania, and OpenAir based in Gaithersburg, Maryland, bring more aircraft into the network, Linear Air will augment its Northeast service by offering regional air taxi flights throughout the Philadelphia and Washington D.C. areas.

“Partnering with FlyADVANCED and OpenAir offers air taxi customers more routes, more aircraft, and more availability,” said Bill Herp, Linear Air CEO said in a news release. “Our goal is to grow our current marketplace throughout the U.S. offering customers a flight anytime, anywhere. These partnerships are an important step toward realizing that goal.”

Hopscotch Air, a premier partner of Linear Air since 2012, and their fleet of air taxi aircraft, partnered to launch the online air taxi marketplace servicing primarily Boston and New York travelers. “The partnership with Linear Air is a proven success,” says Andrew Schmertz, CEO of Hopscotch Air. “It’s driven sales, expanded our marketing footprint, and provided additional support to our company. All of this translates into more customers served and happier customers.”

“We are excited to embark on this partnership with Linear Air to offer air taxi flights on our Cirrus aircraft to locations throughout the Northeast,” said Ben Hollander, Director of Charter Operations for FlyADVANCED. “This partnership will expand our reach as a company to offer safe, easy, and affordable travel options.” OpenAir President Michael Klein adds, “we have watched Linear Air’s marketplace grow over the past year and we are truly excited to be apart of their growing network. We believe that this partnership will expand OpenAir's reach and abilities and our clients will benefit from broader booking capabilities.”

Launched in 2013, Linear Air’s digital marketplace connects customers with the available air taxi inventory across their operator network. The company says what Open Table did for restaurant reservations, and Uber is doing for car service, Linear Air is doing for air taxi. As visitors search for flights on the Linear Air site, or one of their travel search partners KAYAK.com and hipmunk.com, proprietary software matches the most suitable aircraft in the network to each flight search - in real time.
