Airspeeder Reveals MK4 Racer

Alauda Aeronautics Unveils High-Performance, Sustainable eVTOL Racer

The Mk4 aims to be the world's fastest eVTOL, hitting a top speed of 225 mph at the tail end of a 30-second sprint.

Powered by the 1,340-horsepower "Thunderstrike" hydrogen turbogenerator, the Mk4 can travel about 188 miles between refuelings with near-zero emissions. The resulting aircraft strikes a balance between traditional VTOL aircraft and terrestrial sports cars - a blend of eVTOL capability with the handling of a Formula 1 racers. The Mk4 is able to cut such impressive performance figures with the aid of Alauda's gimballed thrust technology, allowing for instantaneous response and maneuverability. The uncrewed Mk3 has completed more than 350 test flights throughout its development, in addition to a pair of demonstration races in 2022.

The Airspeeder Mk4 has already entered flight testing in south Australia, with the first crewed races on tap for 2024. A public unveiling of the physical prototype will be displayed at the Southstart innovation festival on March 7, 2023.
