FAA Awards STC For 4-Blade Prop On Piper Navajo

Composite Propeller For Model PA-31P

The FAA has granted an STC (SA02959NY) to MT-Propeller Entwicklung GmbH for the installation of a composite 4-blade scimitar propeller on the Piper PA-31P Navajos equipped with Lycoming TIGO-541-E series engines. The installation has also been certified by EASA.

The company says this new STC provides improved performance, maximum durability and reliability and is suitable for all weather operation.

The installation:

  • Provides best vibration damping characteristics for almost vibration free propeller operation
  • Has bonded on stainless steel leading edges for best erosion protection of the blades
  • Reduces the weight by approx. 25 lbs compared with the original metal propeller
  • Gives more ground clearance for less FODs.
  • Provides significant cabin noise and vibration reduction

The high technology natural composite blades have no life limitation and can be repaired even in case of a FOD.

MT-Propeller holds over 100 STCs worldwide with more than 15.000 propeller systems flying, and a factory certified service center network, provides best service and maintenance all over the world.
