Autel has announced the imminent introduction of new products and expanded capabilities which the company plans to reveal to the wide world during the upcoming IFA 2022 technology exposition in Berlin. Among the gizmos slated to premier at the five-day (02-06 September) event are Autel&rsquo;s new <em>EVO II V3</em> Series drones, a new Live Deck video streaming accessory, and two new smart controllers by which to pilot the updated, upgraded drones. Autel will hold a new product introduction event on 02 September from 16:00-16:30 in Hall 3.2 at booth #110.

uAvionix has announced its participation in a U.K. Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) endorsed, large-scale trial that will assess whether and to what degree ground-based ADS-B obstruction beacons enhance the safety of glider, hang-gliding, paragliding, and model-flying operations within airspace frequented by conventional aircraft. Subject trials will commence in the autumn of 2022 at various sites throughout the United Kingdom under the auspices of the CAA&rsquo;s Airspace Modernization Strategy (AMS).

The Flight School Association of North America (FSANA) will host the 2nd Annual Designated Pilot Examiners Symposium on 11 &amp; 12 October in Phoenix, Arizona. The event seeks to bring together designated pilot examiners (DPEs) aspiring DPEs, flight schools, government officials, and other aerospace stakeholders to exchange information conducive to improving the practical testing of airmen.

Prompted by the in-flight illumination of an annunciator light, the pilot of an Airbus (formerly Eurocopter, formerly Aerospatiale) AS350-B2 helicopter made a precautionary landing in the parking lot of Hawaii&rsquo;s Aloha Stadium. The maneuver was well executed, and neither the aircraft, the pilot, nor the three passengers aboard the aircraft were damaged. The helicopter is owned and operated by <em>Rainbow Helicopters.</em>

On 01 September 2022 Modern Aviation announced the closure of its acquisitions of the FBO assets and operations at Francis S. Gabreski Airport (FOK) and Republic Airport (FRG) from Sheltair Aviation, the nation&rsquo;s largest privately-owned aviation network. Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University has joined hands with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to begin offering a new kind of Master's degree in Airline Management.&nbsp;The new program will fall under the existing Master of Business Administration in Aviation (MBAA) program through its College of Business. The core program will leverage resources from the ERAU worldwide campus with courses taught by Embry faculty and IATA instructors. Overall, the program will see the addition of a new certificate in Airline Management, as well as major-specific courses in revenue management, business models, cost controls, and ancillary revenue.

On July 30, 2022, about 1005 eastern daylight time, an experimental amateur-built Tango 2 gyroplane, N8680G, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Melrose, Florida. The flight instructor and pilot under instruction, were fatally injured. The gyroplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 instructional flight. On the day of the accident, the flight instructor and pilot under instruction departed Melrose Landing Airport (FD22), Hawthorne, Florida at an unknown time.

The lowest MSL altitude at which an IFR aircraft will be vectored by a radar controller, except as otherwise authorized for radar approaches, departures, and missed approaches. The altitude meets IFR obstacle clearance criteria. It may be lower than the published MEA along an airway or J-route segment. It may be utilized for radar vectoring only upon the controller&rsquo;s determination that an adequate radar return is being received from the aircraft being controlled.
