FreeFlight Systems Receives AML STC

Action Expands ADS-B Compliance Options For Part 25 Aircraft

The FAA has issued Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) ST00882DE to FreeFlight Systems allowing for the replacement of the MST 67A dual transponder system with the Becker Avionics BXT6533 Mode S transponder, and pairs with the FreeFlight Systems 1203C SBAS/GNSS sensor for complete ADS-B Out compliance.

Additionally, the FreeFlight Systems RANGR RX ADS-B Receiver can be installed as a part of this STC for ADS-B In capabilities. The RANGR Receiver offers clients an installed solution that provides vital inflight ADS-B In information to a broad range of avionics as well as mobile EFB applications. This complete system is approved for installation in popular Part 25 aircraft models from Hawker, Challenger, Falcon, Gulfstream, Learjet, and Citations.

The FreeFlight Systems 1203C SBAS/GNSS sensor is a certified, high-integrity position source in a compact, lightweight package. The 1203C pairs seamlessly with certified Mode S Extended Squitter transponders to provide a fully rule-compliant ADS-B Out system. With several thousand 1203Cs in service today across airline transport, military, business aviation, and rotorcraft platforms, these receivers are known for their high performance, ease of installation, operational reliability, and longevity.

The latest Becker BXT6533 ADS-B compliant Mode S transponder was designed specifically for complete interoperability with existing TCAS II systems and provides a much-needed alternative to traditional Mode S suppliers in regional airline TCAS II operations as well as turbine and air transport operations, both civil and military.

The complete system meets the requirements of AC20-165B for ADS-B rule compliance and provides access to FAA provided ADS-B In services, drastically improving inflight situational awareness. The system is diversity-capable, is suitable for installation on TCAS I and TCAS II equipped aircraft, and compatible with a variety of common control heads. Additionally, the system can be installed in either single or dual configurations.
