Skydrive, AeroGulf Enter Partnership

LOI Signed For Pre-Order Of 50 SKYDRIVE eVTOL Aircraft

Japanese eVTOL maker SkyDrive and Dubai-based helicopter charter operator AeroGulf Services Company LLC announced the signing  of a letter of intent for the purchase of up to 50 SKYDRIVE eVTOL aircraft. The companies seek innovative air mobility opportunities at Dubai’s Palm Jumeirah tourist destination.

The Letter of Intent was signed by Tomohiro Fukuzawa, CEO of SkyDrive, and Fahad Mohammad Mir Hashem Khoory, CEO of AeroGulf Services.

SkyDrive has been exploring business opportunities in overseas markets and developing potential use cases in the Asia Pacific, Middle East, and US regions.

AeroGulf Services is Dubai’s first commercial helicopter operator and provides a broad range of aviation services including charter flights, oilfield transportation, filming, and emergency medical services. The company is also looking at business opportunities in tourism suing the environmentally friendly eVTOL that are fully electric and have zero CO2 emissions during operations.

The compact, three-seat SKYDRIVE is well-suited for the partnership’s business model, which led to the agreement to pre-order up to 50 units. The companies will collaborate on exploring potential flight routes and practical uses for commercial eVTOL operations. An initial focus will be on sightseeing flights and tourism flights at Dubai’s well-known tourist spot Palm Jumeirah.

Tomohiro Fukuzawa said, “Dubai is at the forefront of preparing for the operation of eVTOL, and it attracts not only residents but also tourists and business travelers from around the world. In collaboration with AeroGulf Services, we aim to introduce sightseeing flights using our compact “SKYDRIVE” eVTOL aircraft, initially around the iconic artificial island of Palm Jumeirah. By offering many people first-hand experiences with our eVTOL, we hope to showcase its value and utility, bringing this groundbreaking form of transportation to a global audience.”
