Two Receive Master Instructor Designation In May

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Two instructors have renewed their Master Instructor designation in the month of May.

Master Instructors LLC said in a news release that all were accredited as Masters by Master Instructors LLC, the international Master Instructor accrediting authority.

Professional aviation educators who earned or renewed their "Master" title during May 2016 are:

Michael Bruce "Mike" Traud, Master CFI of Gold River, CA

Michael B Traud, a 7-time Master and SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI accreditation online. A member of the Master Instructor Board of Review, Mike serves as the safety officer for the Sacramento County Sheriff's Air Squadron as well as a designated pilot examiner (DPE) in the FAA's Sacramento FSDO area.  Additionally, he is a flight instructor and aviation consultant who owns and operates MTAviation Services LLC at Sacramento Executive Airport (SAC).

John U Rockcastle, a 5-time Master and SAFE member, recently renewed his Master CFI accreditation online.   A retired US Navy chief petty officer (CPO), Rock is a simulator instructor with Simcom in Orlando and serves on the production crew at the FAA's National Resource Center in Lakeland.  An Orlando FAASTeam representative, he was also the 1989 National CFI of the Year. 

Many of the most recent National Flight Instructors of the Year or National FAASTeam Representatives of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.
