New Pricing On XP-360 Engine

Price On Sportav Engine Changes In September

If you've been waiting for the price of aircraft engines to drop, boy are you in luck. Superior has repriced its XP-360 Engine for the sport aviation market. Senior Vice President Tim Archer said, "Superior introduced the XP-360 Engine three years ago, and we have had tremendous success with its acceptance as the preferred choice in powerplants for this growing market."

The new price on the XP-360 Engine base model O-360-A1A2, which is a carbureted fixed-pitch, 180 horsepower engine, will start at $17, 990. The new pricing will be effective July 4th - September 4th, 2003.

Superior recently staged a conference in Dallas (TX) with its Alliance members who supply major components of the engine. The purpose of the conference was to discuss the success the XP-360 Engine has enjoyed and how costs could be reduced. The Alliance members were able to offer Superior temporary price reductions based on volume increases of these major components.

Additional cost reductions are also the result of the efficiency and cost savings of building the XP-360 in Superior's state-of-the-art assembly plant. The XP-360 Engine is currently built at Superior's build center and shipped directly to the customer. Future plans will offer two additional options:

  • Go to Superior's Build Center and watch your engine being built
  • Build the engine yourself under the guidance of Superior's engine build specialist.
  • Customers who are qualified mechanics can buy an SL-360 Engine Kit, which is a complete unassembled engine.

"Superior is dedicated to supporting the Sport Aviation Market and continues this support by providing the best product with the highest quality and greatest value. This is exemplified by passing any cost savings on to our customers," stated Archer.
