MS Department Of Public Safety Selects Cloud Cap Imaging Technology

TASE 400HD Installed Aboard Department's AS350b3e Helicopter

The Mississippi Department of Public Safety (DPS) Highway Air Operations has installed a Cloud Cap Technology TASE 400HD airborne imaging system on a new Airbus AS350b3e helicopter. UTC Aerospace Systems completed the installation for the state.

The installation of the Cloud Cap Technology TASE 400HD will provide the Mississippi Highway Patrol Air Operations with high-performance day and night thermal imagery to support its multi-mission capability in patrol, hurricane support and drug enforcement.

The thermal imager in the TASE 400HD can see in total darkness and through nearly all weather conditions. The daylight camera provides superior high-definition imagery for enhanced situational awareness, and public and officer safety. Mississippi DPS will have the ability to automatically and clearly track fixed or moving targets of interest, and easily mark and report the location of suspicious activity, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Lieutenant Jason Seal of the Mississippi DPS Air Operations commented, "With the TASE 400HD we were able to achieve all the features we needed for operations and due to the minimal size and weight of the system it had virtually no effect on aircraft performance."
