Star Air Buys Three More Embraer Aircraft

Will Join Two Of The Type Already In Revenue Service With The Airline

Bengaluru-based Star Air is set to add more Embraer 145 aircraft to its existing fleet in the coming months. The company has placed a new order for the purchase of three more advanced Embraer ERJ 145 aircraft. This deal is expected to strengthen Star Air's relationship with Embraer.

Star Air is the first airline in India to operate this popular aircraft for revenue service. Currently, the Star Air fleet consists of two ERJ 145 aircraft, with the three new airplanes set to join its fleet by November 2019. Star Air is planning to increase its fleet size to 10 aircraft by December 2020.

"By cementing this partnership with Embraer, we will be ideally positioned to generate greater value for all of our stakeholders," said Star Air chairman Sanjay Ghodawat. "We will continue to add more aircraft to our fleet in the time to come which will help us activate all UDAN routes and also a few non-UDAN sectors. Customer comfort and their safety is of utmost importance to us at Star Air."

Star Air is currently operating in six Indian cities that include Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, Belagavi, Hubballi, and Tirupati.
