Universal Avionics Expert Presents Training Workshop At AEA2016

Technical Training Workshop Will Focus On ADS-B Out Integration & Installation On April 27

Universal Avionics is planning a technical training workshop during the Aircraft Electronics Association’s (AEA) 2016 International Convention and Trade Show on Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) Out integration and installation solutions.

The workshop will focus on using the Satellite-Based Augmentation System (SBAS)-Flight Management System (FMS) as the position source. Scheduled for Wednesday, April 27th, the workshop will begin at 4:00pm in the Daytona 1 -2 room.

Amanda Grizzard, Universal Avionics Field Service Engineer, will start with an overview of ADS-B Out and follow with installation planning and resources, system interface and configuration, certification and technical support. “Join me to explore how a Flight Management System can become a part of your NextGen solution,” said Amanda. “I will cover the integration and installation of our FMS as a position source for ADS-B Out and connect you with the best training and technical support resources so we can be there with you every step along the way,” she added.

It’s essential for everyone involved in the process of ADS-B Out aircraft modifications to be aware of all components and understand that certification requirements must be identified and accommodated from the start of and throughout each stage of the product. This will help to prevent cost escalations, increased downtime, and even failure of the project.
