Yeager Being Sued... By His Children

The story is just starting to make the rounds, so we can't/shouldn't ignore it... but an aviation legend is undergoing some legal heartache, courtesy of 3 of his 4 kids.

The legendary Chuck Yeager, who has remarried, is undergoing some family problems due to his children's mistrust/dislike of his new spouse. Yeager, 81, married 45 year old Victoria Scott D'Angelo (pictured together, above) last August after having lost his wife Glennis to cancer over 13 years before.

Yeager's principal foe in the upcoming legal battle is his daughter, Susan. She has filed a claim over yeager's 1.35 million dollar ranch, charging that Chuck's new spouse is an "undue influence" over him. A trial is scheduled for this May, in a Nevada county Superior Court.

Susan's lawsuit claims that the former Ms. D'Angelo has been "fraudulent," "malicious" and "oppressive." Susan and her siblings Don Yeager and Sharon Flick are Yeager's children from his 45-year marriage to Glennis Yeager.

Yeager has said little about the matter, responding only that his children are simply "upset" because his new wife would be entitled to his money when he dies."

Mind you, for those of us at ANN that have come to know the General fairly well through a number of events and projects, it's hard to imagine that anyone could exert any undue influence over him. He is, to be polite, an extremely confident and strong personality... which is not a criticism because anyone who has strapped his butt to a rocket, as he has done more than once, is sure to need a lot of both to survive the experience.
