SureCheck's New Portable Collision Avoidance Package

Package Has Altitude

SureCheck Aviation, Inc. just today released a completely redesigned “next generation” portable collision avoidance system, with TrafficScope VRX. TrafficScope VRX is altitude-based and combines many advanced collision avoidance technologies into one small package.

Portable, 'plug-and-go,' and low-cost system:

While the price of most installed collision avoidance avionics remains outside the budget of many pilots, TrafficScope VRX was developed to combine traffic safety and affordability. Completely self-contained, VRX is truly a “Plug and Go” device that is suited for pilots who fly multiple aircraft since installation is not required. However, SureCheck Aviation, Inc. also provides permanent installation assistance with FAA form 337 and available mounting and installation kits.

How's it work?

Based on Mode C and Mode-S transponders, this passive detection method gives true versatility to increasing air traffic awareness. TrafficScope is microprocessor controlled and utilizes menus to assist pilots in all aspects of flight. TrafficScope includes an onboard altimeter for added reference accuracy and can be set up for flight and ground mode operations, as well as an auto mode which senses when the pilot becomes airborne and switches itself into flight mode. Ground mode allows pilots to see only airborne threats, which can be extremely useful in non-towered airports prior to departure. In addition to flight mode, TrafficScope VRX allows the pilot to scale the view of traffic by two independent parameters, altitude and range.

For altitude, TrafficScope will detect traffic within 500 feet, 1000 feet, or an “unlimited” view. For range, TrafficScope gives you a maximum user-selectable detection range of up to 5.0 NM. TrafficScope VRX will alert the pilot through audio messages when an aircraft poses a threat. The alerts intelligently adapt to the pilot’s altitude and range parameters, thus eliminating annoying alerts from aircraft of no concern. Since TrafficScope VRX monitors both horizontal and vertical separation, accurate threat assessment is greatly enhanced.  The audio alert feature is mono or stereo selectable. Volume is digitally controlled and can be instantly muted.

Vortex watcher, too:

The VRX contains unique features including a Wake Turbulence Area warning, which indicates a potential wake turbulence hazard, as well as RADAR environment and Mode S indications.  Another advantage of TrafficScope VRX is a one-touch local altitude feature which allows the user to see exactly what altitude your transponder is sending back to ATC. To interface with other avionics, the rear data port can send traffic information to other compliant avionics through an RS-232 format.

TrafficScope VRX is compatible with both pressurized and non-pressurized aircraft and includes a 3 year warranty, a custom hard carrying case, and an audio cable. Power is supplied by either 4 “AA” batteries (included) or a cigarette adapter (also included). TrafficScope VRX is extremely compact, measuring only 5.3” long, 3.5” wide, and 1.9” tall.

Suggested Retail is $1,195 and includes online training course package.
