Redbird unveiled the first prototype of its successful FMX at EAA AirVenture in 2007.
The first Redbird FMX prototype featured a motion platform that utilized pneumatic cylinders.
Redbird got it’s name from a Cessna 177 Cardinal RG that was to be used in the first prototype of the FMX.
Since beginning deliveries in December of 2008, Redbird has delivered more than 300 training devices to customers in 22 countries on 6 continents.
Since unveiling the FMX in 2007, Redbird has announced a new product at every EAA AirVenture and Sun ‘n Fun Fly In.
The first Redbird FMX was delivered to Austin Academy of Aviation, a flight school operating at Austin Bergstrom International Airport.
Redbird Flight Simulations was started in 2006 as an experiment in a 500 sq ft workshop. It is now headquartered in a 30,000 sq ft facility in Austin, TX.
Redbird’s demo FMX, nicknamed Mad Max (The Road Warrior,) travels an average of 20,000 miles every year to Air Shows and Conferences around the country.
The Redbird FMX was designed to operate in almost any classroom. It fits through a standard 36” doorway and operates off a single 110V 15A power outlet.
