At EAA AirVenture 2016, PS Engineering Inc. was talking about, and showing, their PMA450A and PMA8000G audio panels for aircraft. While audio panels started off as simply a box that allowed switching between a couple of radios, we are now a long way from that starting point. About the only thing these audio panels don’t do is start your morning coffee, and we’ll have to see if that shows up next year.
ANN News Editor, Tom Patton, stopped by the PS Engineering display and listened about what these audio panels have to offer from Mark Scheuer, who is the President of PS Engineering. Scheuer takes no shame in saying that PS Engineering provides the top audio panels in the industry.
Scheuer starts off by showing a neat feature of particular interest to older pilots (we are getting older, you know) that allows the audio levels to be adjusted as needed for the left or right ear (no more hassling with individual headset volume controls). And, this is only the starting point of all the features you’ll see in this video. You’ll not only find the video interesting from the viewpoint of technology, but it also provides a great video presentation of how these systems work. Watch and learn!
