NATA Releases Statement On GAMI G100UL Demonstration

Unleaded Fuel Demo Performed At Santa Clara Airport

The National Air Transport Association (NATA) issued the statement below in response to the announcement by General Aviation Modifications, Inc., of the first delivery of its G100UL unleaded aviation fuel to Reid-Hillview Airport (KRHV) in Santa Clara, California.

Curt Castagna, the President and CEO of NATA, also serves as Co-chair of the Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions (EAGLE) initiative, a partnership among industry and government dedicated to identifying and promoting safe and reliable unleaded aviation fuels for piston-powered aircraft.

The NATA statement:

"GAMI’s partnership with Reid-Hillview Airport represents another step in the transition to an unleaded future for general aviation by offering an opportunity to demonstrate the performance and reliability of G100UL. NATA looks forward to continued collaboration with our EAGLE partners to safely deploy unleaded fuels that meet the needs and standards of the entire general aviation industry.

"NATA and its General Aviation Fuel Handling Subcommittee support training for all aircraft refueling stakeholders to address new misfueling risks associated with the introduction of an additional grade of fuel at airports. It is critical that anyone who handles or uses emerging fuels reviews these resources, as well as any specific STC or OEM requirements."

NATA represents about 3,700 aviation businesses who provide a broad range of products and services to general aviation, the airlines, and the military. It has served as the public policy organization representing the interests of aviation businesses before Congress and federal agencies since 1940.
