Airborne 10.03.14: A350-900 Cert, Upgraded TBM700, Who Won The EAA Fairchild?

Also: Avidyne Extends EX500 Life, Airborne's Future, SNC and Stratolaunch, Citation Latitude Update, Huerta Makes Excuses

The European Aviation Safety Agency has issued the type certificate of the Airbus A350-900. This certification is the first Airbus passenger aircraft with a new design to be entirely certified by EASA, from the application by Airbus in 2007 until the type certification.

Daher-Socata has delivered the first avionics-modernized TBM 700 turboprop aircraft with a Garmin G600/GTN 750 new-generation glass cockpit avionics retrofit, replacing mechanical equipment and first-generation CRT electronic flight displays. The company says this installation is a lower-cost alternative to a full retrofit with the Garmin G1000 integrated flight instrument system. Who could forget the beautifully-restored Fairchild 24H Deluxe that sat for the week of AirVenture near the tower ... and the lines of people signing small slips of paper with hopes of winning the airplane as part of EAA's annual Aircraft Sweepstakes. Well, if you're wondering who won the airplane, wonder no more. It’s reported by EAA that Marsha Fulton of Covington, Indiana is the proud new owner of the vintage 1937 airplane. On Monday, September 29, EAA staff called Marsha and John Fulton, to inform them of news. All this... and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
