Television station KTRE reports that James Caffee was enroute from La Porte to Longview when he lost power over Nacogdoches. The said he was attempting to land at the airport, but instead had to deploy the airplanes emergency parachute when it became apparent he would not make the runway. The airplane came down in a residential neighborhood about 25 yards from a house.

The airplane reportedly hit some powerlines as it came down, but Caffee was apparently uninjured in the accident, which is still under investigation.
